Five Army personnel in tank swept away while crossing river in Ladakh

New Delhi: Five Army personnel are feared drowned after a T-72 tank skidded off the road while crossing the river during a drill along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh’s Nyoma-Chushul area, officials said on Saturday.

The accident took place around 1 am near the temple morh, 148 km from here, officials said.

According to officials, the water level in the river rose suddenly, which led to the accident. Relief operations have been launched to search for the soldiers
