Two former ministers, three IAS offices under vigilance lense

The two former ministers and three ex-IAS officers under the Punjab Vigilance lense in the infamous multi-crore irrigation scam exposed during the Congress regime between 2017 and 2022.

According to the sources in the department, two former IAS officers Sarvesh Kaushal and KBS Sidhu reportedly fled to abroad and their role is also being probed in this case. 

Last week, the Vigilance Bureau had questioned ex-IAS officer Kahan Singh Pannu for about five hours in this case. 

According to the case, contractor Gurinder Singh siphoned off public exchequer’s money and vigilance had named him in scam. 

The investigation agency said that the contractor admitted to give Rs 5.50 crores, Rs 8.50 crores and Rs 7 crores to the officials. 

He also bribed of over Rs 5 crores to former ministers and their PA, the officers said. 

The former CM Captain Amarinder government had registered a case against Gurinder on August 17, 2017.
