HC quashes plea challenging Dera Head Ram Rahim’s parole

Chandigarh: The Haryana High Court has given a big relief to Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The court on Monday dismissed a lawyer’s plea seeking cancellation of parole. The Dera chief is lodged in Sunaria jail in connection with other cases, including the murder of a journalist and a follower, who was granted parole for 40 days from the jail authorities on October 15 last.
After getting parole, the Dera chief has stayed at the Dera branch in Uttar Pradesh’s Barnawa and has been interacting with his followers from across the country and abroad online from here.
