Amritsar court acquits former minister Anil Joshi in defamation case

Amritsar (Vijay): In a major relief to a former BJP minister, the Amritsar court has granted him relief in a defamation case. The court of Chief Judicial acquitted former minister Anil Joshi. A defamation case was filed against Joshi in 2013 by Congress leader Vineet Mahajan.

Advocate Amandeep Singh, appearing in the case, said advocate Vanit Mahajan had filed a defamation case against Joshi in 2013.
It was alleged that the former minister, through an English and Hindi newspaper, had called advocate Vineet Mahajan and another of his lawyer friends as blackmailers. After this, Vanit Mahajan had filed a case against the former minister in the court for tarnishing his image.
