Notice issued to Punjab Health Agency in EPF scam case

Chandigarh: Another scam related to the State Health Agency has come to light in Punjab. The company, which was entrusted with the responsibility of providing employees to run the health insurance scheme, has been said to have siphoned off about Rs 3 crore from about 300 employees.

The money was supposed to be deposited in their Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts but now in a notice sent to the government-run state health agency, EPFO has termed the matter as a fraud.
According to the information, the state health agency had appointed ‘Aarogya Mitra’ through outsourcing to run the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, who was posted in government hospitals.
