Video of girl hugging boy on scooter goes viral, youth detained on charges of spreading obscenity

New Delhi: Lucknow Police have detained a youth who was seen in a viral video in Hazratganj area of the city. In the video, he was purportedly seen with a young girl on a busy road in the UP capital. The video surfaced on social media on Tuesday, in which the couple was seen making obscene gestures. The police took the young man into custody while taking prompt action in the case. The girl seen with him in the video is a minor.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Central Lucknow Rajesh Srivastava told media on Wednesday, “A video surfaced yesterday in which a man and a minor girl were seen sitting in an objectionable manner on a scooter in Hazratganj police station area of Lucknow.
“A case has been registered under sections 294 and 279 of the IPC.
Vicky Sharma, 23, who was driving the scooter, has been detained and his vehicle has been seized. According to the police, a case has been registered on charges of spreading obscenity in a public place. The accused youth is said to have come from a rural area while the girl with him is a minor.
