BBC documentary on Gujarat riots shows propaganda, colonial mindset: MEA

New Delhi: The Indian government reacted sharply to the BBC documentary on the Gujarat riots. The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday and said that this documentary cannot be shown in India, this documentary has been broadcast on the BBC.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a press conference that we would say that this is an attempt to run a narrative of a particular kind of propaganda against India.
The documentary shows that the people and organisations associated with it have a certain kind of thinking because there is no neutrality on facts and topics. It is driven by a colonial mindset.
“The use of words like investigation by UK diplomats suggests that there is a particular mindset. Are they still ruling here? That is why we are saying that this documentary has been made with a colonial mindset.”
