Punjab govt orders Vigilance to seek permission before taking action against IAS officers

Punjabenews: The Punjab Government has intervened and severely reprimanded the Vigilance Bureau in the wake of the ongoing crackdown on IAS officers.

The Chief Minister office took serious note of action being taken against IAS officers without prior permission from the government by the Vigilance.
The Punjab government has issued a letter to the Vigilance that if action is to be taken against IAS officers, then the approval of 17A should be taken first. Strict action will be taken against the action without approval.
It may be recalled that the IAS officers were very disgruntled after the vigilance action on IAS Neelima.
After this, the case of IAS officer Ajoy Sharma came to light. Vigilance is tightening the noose against senior IAS officer Ajoy Sharma.
