Karnataka: 137 students fall ill after consuming poisonous food, some in critical condition

Mangalore (Karnataka): As many as 137 nursing and para-medical students living in a private hostel in Karnataka’s Mangalore fell ill after allegedly consuming poisonous food at night, police said on Sunday.

The students have been admitted to various hospitals in the city, police said. The students complained of abdominal pain, vomiting and stools and were admitted to hospitals on Monday night. The reason for the poisonous food is said to be contaminated water. The condition of some of the students is said to be critical.
