Release of Sikh Prisoners: Protesters stopped at Chandigarh border, going to gherao CM Mann’s residence

Punjabenews: Rashtriya Insaaf Morcha leaders and Sikh activists have been staging a sit-in at the Mohali-Chandigarh border for nearly a month now demanding the release of the Sikh prisoners. Due to the negligence of the governments, Sikh organizations left for the residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the second day today. The Chandigarh administration has deployed a large number of police personnel.

The police have stopped the Sikh activists at the Chandigarh border. After this, they sat there and started praying. The Chandigarh Police said that no more than five members can go ahead. The protesters, therefore, decided that a five-member ‘jatha’ would go ahead and protest in front of the CM’s residence. After this, the next jatha will leave on the return of that jatha.
