Death toll from earthquakes in Turkey, Syria crosses 11,000

Ankara: The death toll from Monday’s earthquake in Turkey and Syria has risen to more than 11,000. The death toll in Turkey has exceeded 8500.

The country’s vice president said at least 34,810 people were injured in the country, while a total of 4,654 were injured in Syria.
