Release of Sikh prisoners: Protesters snatched weapons and tried to kill employees: Chandigarh Police

Chandigarh: According to the case registered in Chandigarh, the protesters, who were raising pro-Khalistan slogans, snatched tear gas shells and its cartridges during violent clashes with the police and tried to kill the policemen.

The Chandigarh Police registered an FIR late at night in which 30 police personnel were injured and several police vehicles were damaged.
The incident took place in Sector 52-53 on the Chandigarh-Mohali border when the protesters tried to reach the official residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann here.
The police have named seven persons associated with the Rashtriya Insaaf Morcha, who are leading the protest, in the FIR.
