Tension at Chandigarh border: Sikh activists stopped by police on way to CM House

Punjabenews: The situation on the Chandigarh-Mohali border remained tense even today. Today again, a group of 31 members of Sikh organizations tried to enter Chandigarh. They marched towards the house of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann but they have been stopped by the police. After which sikh organizations sat on the same road and started reciting.

The jatha demanded to go to Chandigarh, but they did not get permission. After this, the jatha sat down to recite again. After reciting for about half an hour, the jatha returned to the place where their sit-in has been going on since January 7, raising slogans.
Yesterday, the protesters beat up the policemen with swords and sticks when they were stopped. In the FIR lodged in Chandigarh, the police claim that their weapons and tear gas guns were also looted.
Police also said that 12 pro-Khalistani organisations were among those staging the sit-in. Who also raised pro-Khalistan slogans. The police have registered a case against the organisers of the protest under sections of attempt to murder.
