Arrest warrant issued against BJP MLA Hardik Patel

Surendranagar: A court in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district has issued arrest warrants against BJP MLA Hardik Patel for failing to appear before it in a 2017 case.

He is accused of violating a government order. Patel had delivered a political speech in a village in the district in violation of a government order ahead of the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections.
Dhrangadhara Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate D.D. Shah has issued an arrest warrant against Patel for failing to appear before the court. Through the warrants issued on February 2, the court directed the officer of Dhrangadhra Taluka police station in Surendranagar district to arrest Patel and produce him before the court. An official confirmed that the orders were received at the police station on February 11.
