Post-matric scholarship scam: Six officers sacked

Chandigarh: In a major action in the Rs 39 crore post-matric scholarship scam that took place during the tenure of former cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, six top officials have been sacked.

Six officers of different departments, who were found guilty after a departmental inquiry, have been removed from the post.
Of these, four are from the social justice, empowerment and minority affairs department and two from the finance department. Parminder Singh Gill deputy director, Charanjit Singh deputy controller, Mukesh Bhatia section officer, Rajinder Chopra superintendent and Rakesh Arora and Baldev Singh (both senior assistants) have been dismissed after a departmental inquiry. Of these, Charanjit and Rakesh have retired.
