Set back to AAP, Governor refuses to give approval for budget session

Chandigarh: The Punjab Governor has refused to approve the first budget session of the AAP government. In the wake of the ongoing tussle between Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Governor has said that approval will be taken only after consulting legal experts.

BanwariLal Purohit has written a letter to the Chief Minister and replied in strong language.
“I will look into the request for the budget session only after taking legal advice on the frivolous questions on my post,” he said. Reacting sharply to the Chief Minister’s tweets, the Punjab Governor said, “Legal opinion will have to be taken on your tweets of February 13 and 14.”
Only then will a decision be taken on the chief minister’s application for the budget session on March 3.
During this, he said that CM’s tweet is unconstitutional and wrong. The governor has attached the chief minister’s tweets in his letter.
