Jalandhar DC summons travel agent who sent 700 students on fake visa to Canada

Jalandhar News: Jalandhar: After reports of issuing fake visa to 700 students, who were facing deportation notice by Canadian authorities, the Jalandhar administration swung into action.

Jalandhar Police on Thursday said it has traced the office of a travel agent who issued fake documents to 700 Indian students being deported from Canada.

Police said the office is close to the city bus stand but has been closed for six months. It said they were verifying other details and had not received any complaint in this regard so far.
Some media reports have said that more than 700 Indians are being deported for submitting fake documents issued by a Jalandhar-based travel agent.
The students had gone to Canada in 2018-19 on a study visa, but recently a case of fraud has come to light after applying for permanent residence in Canada.
