One year with Punjab: AAP Minister Anmol Gagan Mann presents report card of her departments

Punjab E News: On the completion of one year of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann highlighted the performance of the Bhagwant Mann government and her departments in one year under the slogan ‘One year with Punjab’.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann congratulated the people of Punjab and the Aam Aadmi Party organization for a successful year of the AAP government. She said that before Aam Aadmi Party, no government worked so fast for the development of Punjab. The Congress and SAD-BJP governments used to start work six months before the elections and they too were never completed.

Referring to the one year achievements of the Bhagwant Mann government, the Cabinet Minister said that all the major guarantees given by their national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann during the elections have been almost fulfilled. She said that the opposition was raising suspicion on implementation of 300 units of free electricity per month guarantee. But the government led by Bhagwant Mann has shown that it is possible and today 90% of the households in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills. Also, the government fulfilled the promise of employment and gave jobs to about 27000 youth in one year.

She further said that currently there are more than 500 mohalla clinics in Punjab where more than 10 lakh people have received free treatment so far. ‘Schools of eminence’ are being built in Punjab and reforms are being carried out on a large scale in government schools. For the promotion of Punjabi language, many important decisions have been taken by Bhagwant Mann government and efforts are being made to promote Punjabi language. The Aam Aadmi Party government has tackled the transport mafia, also stood up for the protection of the waters of Punjab firmly.

Anmol Gagan Mann said that her government ended the sand mafia by opening the government sand quarries and the Aam Aadmi Party government is an anti-corruption government. She added, “We are very blessed that we are working with an honest government to make the state ‘Rangla Punjab’ again.”

Presenting the performance data of her departments of one year, Anmol Gagan Mann said that the investment of 40,000 crores came in the first year of the AAP government which is the result of the sincere efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. She said that the opposition leaders make baseless allegations to mislead the people of Punjab that investors are going out of Punjab. While the truth is completely opposite. The previous Congress government’s first year in 2017-18 saw an investment of only Rs 5,000 crore and Chief Minister Mann brought in an investment of Rs 40,000 crore.
She further said that a new industry policy has been formulated with the advice of industrialists and sector-specific meetings will be held every three months so that every sector has equal development and maximum jobs can be created in Punjab. She said that subsidies and incentives worth Rs 3,000 crore were given to the industry sector last year and up to Rs 3,700 crore will be released next year. Focal points will be further developed and 15 new industrial parks will be set up.

Talking about the Tourism Department, Minister Anmol Gagan Mann said that Punjab is a state with a rich culture and potential for a thriving tourism industry, but due to the negligence of the previous governments, it faced a lot of losses. She said that special attention was given to water tourism policy and adventure tourism policy in this investment summit. She said that the development of tourism department will increase the revenue of Punjab and jobs for Punjabis. She said that the palaces and museums of Punjab are being renovated and the funds have been released on time. The AAP government will soon organize a heritage festival in 23 districts of Punjab where each district will get an opportunity to present its different culture.

According to Labor Department data, 1,36,000 new workers were registered after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government. She said that in the last year of the Congress government 2021-22, compared to 33 crores released for the facilities of 16,905 people, the AAP government released 86.65 crore to the facilities of 61,764 people in its first year 2022-23 and this figure further. It will continue to increase at the same rate. She also enumerated the achievements of increase in minimum wages, app released for the convenience of workers and organizing awareness camps and said that the Aam Aadmi Party government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann will continue the public welfare work for inclusive development of the state.
