Delhi Budget to be presented today after tussle between Centre and AAP government

Delhi: After a two-day tussle between the Center and the Delhi government, the Budget of Delhi will be presented today. The Home Ministry yesterday approved Delhi’s budget after initially raising objections to certain allocations for infrastructure, advertisements.

Following the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s clarification, the central government on Tuesday evening paved the way for the presentation of delhi’s budget in the Assembly.
The budget was to be presented in the Assembly on Tuesday, but the central government had asked the Arvind Kejriwal government to send the budget again after addressing the concerns stated by the Lieutenant Governor.
Denying the allegations, Delhi government Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot had said that of the Rs 78,800 crore budget, Rs 22,000 crore was earmarked for infrastructure and Rs 550 crore for advertisements. Kailash Gehlot will present the budget in the Delhi Assembly today.
