“Relations will not be normal without peace on the border”: Rajnath Singh after meeting Chinese Defense Minister

New Delhi: India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and China’s Defense Minister met on Thursday. After the meeting, Rajnath Singh said that without peace on the border, relations between the two countries will not be normal. 

According to the information, Rajnath Singh raised the border dispute with his Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu. The talks took place after Shangfu arrived in Delhi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) defence ministers’ meeting. 
India is hosting the SCO defence ministers’ meeting. 
This is the first visit of the Chinese Defence Minister to India after the border dispute erupted in eastern Ladakh three years ago.  
There was no official word yet on the meeting between Singh and Shangfu. The talks between the two defence ministers came days after the armies of India and China held the 18th round of military talks to resolve the border dispute.
