Punjab Cabinet decides to provide 10 per cent compensation to labourers for damaged crops

Ludhiana News: Several major decisions have been taken in the Punjab Cabinet meeting here today. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that in the meeting, from May 1, the government is giving gifts to the laborers. Now, if a farmer’s crop is damaged, the government will give 10 per cent compensation to that farmer as well as labourers working in the field.
Work will be started to get more and more workers registered. Workers are also appealed to take advantage of government schemes by getting their registration done. At the same time, if the central government imposes any cut on the damaged crops, then the state government will make all the compensation for it. In order to make the anti-drug campaign successful at the grass root level in Punjab, permanent staff will be recruited in the drug laboratories. Mann said that 87 posts will be filled in the local bodies.
He said that due to lack of staff, the samples remain in the laboratory for several days. Along with this, new recruitments will also be made in The Punjab Technical University (PTU) and the Sports Department. The revised pay scales of PAU teachers will come into effect from January 1, 2016 and they will get the benefits of the 7th Pay Commission. The Chief Minister said the roads in Punjab were in a bad shape.
There are toll plazas on every road but the roads are broken. The plazas will be eliminated first. After this, the roads will be constructed. He said the Vigilance was also interrogating the leaders who amassed assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. According to the law, after sealing the properties, this money will be used in public interest.
