14 Messenger apps operating from Pakistan banned

New Delhi: The central government has banned 14 messenger apps operating from Pakistan. These include Bchat. The Union IT Ministry has taken this decision based on the input received from the Intelligence Bureau.

The Indian government has said that these apps pose a threat to the security of the country, after which they have been banned. Earlier, India had banned many social media accounts running from Pakistan.
The Pakistani apps that have been banned include BChat, Crypviser, Inigna, Safeswis, Wickrme, MediaFire, Briar, Nandbox, Conion, Imo, Element, Second Line and Jangi & Threema.
