International drug peddler arrested with huge quantity of heroin, drug money and weapons

Amritsar News: A huge cache of narcotics has been recovered from international drug peddlers during a joint operation by the police team and CIA staff as part of a special operation launched by the Commissioner of Police Amritsar against drug peddlers. On May 16, the accused, Jobanjit Singh, was arrested from 100 Feet Road during patrolling by Amritsar police team ASI Manjinder Singh along with his fellow employees and 200 grams of heroin was also seized from his possession.
    After thorough interrogation, it was found that 2 kg 400 grams of heroin, 1 kg 950 grams of narcotic powder, Rs 7 lakh 40 thousand (drug money) and 1 pistol 32 bore magazine were recovered from his friend’s house. 
    The arrested accused, Jobanjit Singh, was in touch with drug smugglers in Pakistan through phone and used to take consignments of heroin from village Bhoropal under Police Station Gharinda police station area and supply it further. The matter is currently under investigation.
