Cleaner killed the driver, dumped the half-decomposed body in the garbage in Phagwara
Jalandhar : The truck cleaner allegedly killed his driver near Goraya town here. Accused set the body on fire and dumped the half-decomposed body in the garbage at a village near Goraya.
SP (D) Manpreet Dhillon, who visited the spot, said the cleaner had tried to burn the body by killing the truck driver.
Truck driver Satnam Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, worked in a gas cylinder company.
The deceased’s brother Balwinder Singh told the police that two days ago, Satnam had left home in Jalandhar on the pretext of delivering an oxygen gas cylinder.
The cleaner Pankaj, who accompanied the deceased, has gone missing. Rs 1.5 lakh collected after delivering gas cylinders in Jalandhar is also missing.
The police found the truck in Ludhiana, while Pankaj is absconding.
Goraya SHO Surinder Kumar said that the police have registered a case of murder against Pankaj and handed over the body to the family members after post-mortem.
