Mukhtar Ansari convicted in 32-year-old Awdhesh Rai murder case
Varanasi: The MP-MLA Court in Varanasi on Monday pronounced its verdict in a 32-year-old case involving Mukhtar Ansari. A Varanasi court on Monday convicted Mukhtar Ansari.
Mukhtar Ansari has been convicted by the court on Monday in the Awadhesh Rai murder case. Mukhtar Ansari will be sentenced after lunch by the court. Five people, including Mukhtar Ansari, are accused in this case. Actually, Awadhesh Raj is the brother of Congress leader Ajay Rai. Before the court’s verdict, Ajay Rai said, “Their 32-year wait is going to end today and they hope that they will get justice.”
Awadhesh Rai was murdered on August 3, 1991. Then Awadhesh Rai was standing outside the house of his younger brother and current Congress leader Ajay Rai. At the same time, a Maruti van came there and a lot of people came out of that van. They opened fire on Awadhesh Rai. The whole area around the sound of bullets echoed.
