437 innocent framed in police cases during 10-year Akali regime: Inquiry

Punjab E News (Chandigarh):-  In a shocking revelation, as many as 437 innocent people have been framed in false cases due to political considerations during the 10 years of Akali regime, an inquiry revealed. 

     "Commission of Inquiry" — initially headed by Justice Mehtab Singh Gill — in the 420-page report, submitted to the Punjab Chief Minister, further shed light that police cases were registered under cheating, forgery, rape charges and NDPC charges to frame people. 

      Following the inquiry, a relief was given to victims, officials said adding that a action would also be initiated against cops who wrongly framed people in legal cases undet political pressure.
