Adequate arrangements to prevent spread of diseases in flood affected areas

DC instruct Health Department to remain vigilant as 10 medical teams deployed

Sultanpur Lodhi: As the water level in the flood-affected areas in sultanpur Lodhi starts receding , District administration is fully geared up to implement large-scale measures to prevent water-borne diseases alongwith providing health services to the people in the flood-affected areas .

Deputy Commissioner Captain Karnail Singh has asked the health officials to provide all possible health services to the people in the affected areas.

He said that “as the water level is decreasing, the possibility of spreading water-borne diseases also increases, in view of which the team of the health department should make people aware as well as provide necessary medicines” .

It may be mentioned here that
around 50 health workers including 10 medical and 5 rapid response teams are providing health services besides putting SMO Tibba Dr. Mohanpreet Singh and Dr. Ravinderpal Shubh SMO Sultanpur Lodhi on special duty with these teams.

Civil surgeon Dr. Rajwinder Kaur said that there was no fear of any kind of disease spreading in the area.

She urged the people to drink water only from a clean and safe source besides always wash your hands before using stored water.

Disposal food waste properly besides Preventing children from walking in flood water and
Use mosquito nets to avoid malaria and dengue also suggested .
