Punjab Extends OTS Scheme Launched For Defaulting Power Consumers
Punjab. news: Giving a major reprieve to defaulting power consumers of the state, Punjab Power Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday said that Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) has decided to extend the validity of the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for another three months. This scheme was introduced by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government for consumers who have either defaulted on their electricity bill payments or their power connections were disconnected due to financial constraints.
Disclosing this, the Power Minister said that now, the scheme shall be valid upto 24.11.2023 for all categories of defaulting consumers (except AP), while urging people to take advantage of the scheme introduced in larger public interest. All other terms & conditions of the scheme shall remain the same.
Asking the officials concerned to ensure meticulous compliance of the scheme, Mr. ETO said that CM Mann led Punjab Government’s this landmark initiative is aimed at providing relief to people.
