Mission Indradhanush- DC launches first round of Immunization drive to vax 5591 children aged between 0-5 and 1003 pregnant women
DC orders officials to assist health teams in 100 percent coverage
Jalandhar News: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Monday kick-started first round of immunization drive under the Intensified Mission Indradhanush-5.0 to cover 5591 children aged between 0-5 and 1003 pregnant women in the district.
After beginning the drive in Civil Hospital, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that the drive would be held in three rounds. He said that the first round of immunization would be held till September 15 followed by the second round from October 9 to 14 and the third phase would be from November 20 to 25 to cover these children and pregnant women.
He said that the health teams had identified the areas where these children live and special camps will be held there to cover all of them. He said that the health department had also provided training to 272 ANMs and 1400 ASHA workers in this regard.
Sarangal ordered the officials of various departments including police, education, local bodies, rural development, and social security departments to provide wholehearted support to health teams during the camps. He said that every effort must be made to ensure that all these children and pregnant women are vaccinated.
Further under the intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0, the entire vaccination record will be digitalized through a portal named U-Win (win over vaccination).
