MP Gurjit Aujla writes to PM Modi, says visa ban is affecting Punjabi diaspora
Punjab News: The ban imposed by the Indian government on issuing visas to Canadian citizens has started affecting the Punjabi community the most as many Indians, especially Canadians of Punjabi origin, whose families are here in Punjab, are unable to share their joys and sorrows.
Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla today wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in this regard, urging them not to punish the entire Punjabi community for the mistake of the Canadian government or the mistake of two-four miscreants.
The government should allow Canadian citizens of Punjabi community coming to Punjab to come to India.
“We have no objection to whatever action the government will take against those anti-India elements.” Aujla also appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to first call an all-party meeting and then take time with the country’s Prime Minister to take the issue seriously and resolve it.
