Agencies procure 50333 MT paddy of 52905-MT arrival
Jalandhar News: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Monday said that food procurement agencies had purchased 50333 MT paddy of 52905-MT paddy arrived in the grain markets of the district.
Disclosing further details, the Deputy Commissioner said that 16527-MT paddy had been purchased by Pungrain, 11237-MT paddy by Markfed, 18180-MT paddy by Punsup, 3881-MT paddy by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 508-MT by private traders.
100-percent payments cleared to farmers in Jalandhar
DC Sarangal said that the administration had also cleared 100-percent payments to the farmers and an amount of Rs 91 crore had been transferred to the peasantry.
Reiterating the commitment to procuring every grain of the produce, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free procurement season. He said that the farmers would not face any kind of inconvenience in the grain markets. He also appealed to the farmers to bring dried grains to the markets to avoid any delay in procurement. He also asked the peasantry to desist from burning the stubble.
