Delhi-NCR air pollution case: SC seeks report from Air Quality Management Commission
New Delhi: The issue of air pollution in Delhi-NCR has reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has sought a report from the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM).
The Supreme Court has asked what steps have been taken to control pollution. In fact, amicus curiae Aparajita Singh has sought the intervention of the Supreme Court. The matter of increasing levels of pollution in the winter season was placed before the court and the commission had sought a report.
He said that stubble burning is also increasing pollution, this matter is with the CAQM and it is dealing with the issues. A bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that amicus curiae has highlighted the serious problem of increasing pollution in winter. All issues, including stubble burning, are available to the CAQM. Therefore, CAQM should file a report in this matter soon and tell what measures have been taken to stop pollution in and around the capital. The next hearing will be on October 31.
