Giani Harpreet Singh slams Central government for clandestinely making it an issue of Sikhs, trying to spoil atmosphere
Punjab E News: Giani Harpreet Singh, the former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Sri Damdama Sahib, lashed out at the central government over the issue of Punjab’s water. He made it clear that no government was serious about the issue of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) and Punjab’s water.
He also cautioned Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on the matter for calling a debate.
Giani Harpreet Singh said that the issue of SYL canal and water in Punjab belongs to all Punjabis. In this, every religion whether they are Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, should come forward. The central government has cleverly made it an issue of Sikhs in a bid to spoil the atmosphere of the state. Everyone needs to come together on the issue of water.
At the same time, he has given advice to CM Bhagwant Mann. Debates are called by those who are out of power. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government should take strict action and stand up for the rights of Punjab, he said.
