Chandigarh administration decision of not admitting Punjab children in government schools strongly opposed
Chandigarh News: The Chandigarh administration’s decision not to admit children from Punjab to pre-nursery and nursery level schools has triggered a political slugfest in the state. Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and NSUI chief Isharpreet Singh Sidhu strongly condemned the decision of the Chandigarh administration. Punjab Congress president Raja Warring said education is a fundamental human right of all.
How can a decision be taken to take away this fundamental right from some children? At present, 40 per cent seats are reserved for students from Punjab in government schools in Chandigarh. Former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal said that education is the most important sector for human development. “We will strongly oppose such a decision. We cannot allow the people of Punjab to be deprived of such basic human rights.”
NSUI President Isharpreet Singh Sidhu said that the chandigarh administration is taking a serious note of the biased action being taken against the students of Punjab.
