Congress leadership visits Sukhpal Khaira in Nabha jail
Chandigarh: Senior Congress leaders visited Nabha jail today to meet Sukhpal Khaira. Devinder Yadav, Punjab Congress in-charge, along with the party’s state president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, and former MLA Kuljit Nagra, held lengthy discussions with Khaira.
During the meeting, Yadav expressed that Sukhpal Khaira is adept at navigating political challenges, but the Punjab government is attempting to stifle opposition voices through petty politics. The party remains steadfast in its support for Khaira.
Yadav declined to address queries about alliances with AAP or Navjot Sidhu. Former MLA Kuljit Nagra, speaking to the press, announced plans for protests similar to district-level demonstrations following the arrest of Bharat Bhushan Ashu. He emphasized that Navjot Sidhu’s case is an internal party matter, discouraging discussions outside the organization.
Regarding an alliance with AAP, Nagra clarified that the party’s state leaders and workers have conveyed their perspectives to the high command.
