Protest against Sidhu’s Moga rally begins: District Congress Committee calls it private event
Chandigarh: Protests have erupted against the scheduled rally of former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Navjot Singh Sidhu in Moga on January 21. Despite senior PPCC leaders expressing their dissent to in-charge Devendra Yadav, Sidhu has not softened his stance. However, the Congress unit in Moga district has now come out in opposition.
Navjot Singh Sidhu plans to conduct his rally in Moga’s prime location. Moga district president Sukhjeet Singh Kaka Lohgarh stated that the Congress has not organized any rally on January 21. Those coordinating the event will conduct it on a private level. There has been no response from Sidhu or the rally organizers yet.
The rally, organized by Dharampal, son of former Moga pradhan Maheshinder Singh, lacks the involvement of district unit leaders, as observed in the rally posters.
Despite posters being displayed in the area, they do not feature any photo of a district unit leader. Notably, Malvika Sood, the in-charge of the assembly constituency, expressed unawareness of the rally and objected to her photo being used without permission, urging the organizers to remove it.
