Bikram Majithia to appear before new SIT chief today in drug case
Chandigarh: Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia is scheduled to appear before the inquiry committee (SIT) again today after receiving a new notice in the drugs case. This is Bikram Majithia’s first appearance after the new SIT was constituted.
He appeared before the old SIT 3 times. The first SIT was headed by ADGP MS Chhina and retired on December 31.
The responsibility of the new SIT has been given to Patiala Range DIG HS Bhullar. The SIT was reconstituted by the government after the retirement of ADGP Mukhwinder Singh Chhinna. Apart from DIG Bhullar, Patiala SSP Varun Sharma and Dhuri SP Yogesh Sharma have been included in the SIT.
Earlier, Majithia was summoned on December 27 but he did not appear as he had less documents. After which the old SIT had called him again on December 30 to record his statement and he was questioned for about 4 and a half hours.
