Assets worth over Rs 100 crore found in Telangana official’s house
New Delhi: The Anti Corruption Bureau has revealed assets worth over Rs 100 crore allegedly earned by Shiv Balakrishna, secretary of Telangana State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TSRERA) and former director of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
Preliminary findings of the ACB suggest that Balkrishna allegedly received crores of rupees by facilitating permits to several real estate companies.
Authorities carried out searches at multiple locations in Telangana, including the houses and offices of Balkrishna and his relatives, on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) started the searches at 5 am on Wednesday and covered 20 locations. The search is likely to continue till Thursday. ACB teams searched the offices of HMDA and RERA. Raids were conducted at Balkrishna’s house and other prominent places linked to the investigation.
A case has been registered against Balkrishna. It is suspected that he misused his official position to amass massive wealth.
