Congress workers clash in front of PPCC in-charge Devendra Yadav at Sri Anandpur Sahib
Chandigarh: In Ropar, State Congress unit in-charge, Devendra Yadav, clashed with party leaders who arrived from Sri Anandpur Sahib today. Devendra Yadav was taken aback by the situation and repeatedly ordered everyone not to engage in the clash, but his instructions went unheard.
The dispute originated from a disagreement about speaking from the stage, leading to a confrontation between the factions led by Himanshu Tandon and Barinder Singh Dhillon.
District Vice President Himanshu Tandon stated that some leaders, who had never voted for the Congress, attended the meeting today and sought time to speak from the stage. These individuals were associated with Barinder Dhillon, arguing that since they never campaigned for the party, they shouldn’t be granted stage time.
Himanshu Tandon further demanded that Manish Tiwari should not be given a ticket from Sri Anandpur Sahib this time. He asserted that if Tiwari is nominated, Congress workers will abstain from participating.
Tandon alleged inconsistency in Tiwari’s candidacy, being nominated from Ludhiana at times and from Sri Anandpur Sahib at others, claiming that when needed, Tiwari avoids direct communication and directs inquiries to his personal assistant in Ludhiana.
