Farmers’ protest ends in Punjab, Agriculture Minister Dhaliwal apologises for CM Mann’s statement
Chandigarh: Farmers have announced to end their protest in Punjab. Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal reached the farmers’ dharna and assured to fulfill their demands by March 31.
After getting assurance from the minister, the farmers have also agreed to end their hunger strike.
Earlier, agriculture officials interacted with farmer leaders. The farmers were adamant that the chief minister apologise for his statement. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had said a few days ago that farmer organisations hold dharnas for frequently and causing nuisance to public. It has become a custom now. The farmers were very angry with this.
Meanwhile, the Agriculture Minister apologized for Mann’s statement. He offered juice to Jagjit Singh Dallewal, leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Siddhupur. Dallewal was sitting on hunger strike for 6 days.
