Returning from father’s cremation, woman her daughter killed in road accident in Punjab

Ferozepur: A woman and her daughter were killed in a collision between two cars in Ferozepur. Deceased woman had come to attend her father’s funeral. While going back, her car collided with another car and she and her daughter died on the spot.

The accident took place near Guru Har Sahai town in Ferozepur district. On the complaint of the deceased’s brother, the police have registered a case against the accused car driver Babaljit Singh resident of Jhanduwala Guru Har Sahai Ferozepur.

The woman’s brother Iqbal Singh, resident of Adarsh Nagar Guru Har Sahai Ferozepur, told the police that his father Hardeep Singh died on January 29. His funeral held on January 30. His sister Sukhpreet Kaur was accompanied by her husband Gurjit Singh and daughter Nimrat Kaur and others.

After the last rites, the sister was going back to her in-laws’ house Malout on January 31. Her car had reached near Jhanduwala village when accused Babaljit Singh negligently brought his car and rammed into his sister’s car. Sister Sukhpreet Kaur and niece Nimrat Kaur were seriously injured and died during the treatment.
