Sacked AIG Rajjit’s property to be attached in Punjab, STF initiates action
Chandigarh: The Special Task Force (STF) has tightened the grip on Rajjit Singh, the dismissed Inspector General of Police (AIG) of Punjab Police, who has been absconding since October 2023 in a case related to drug smuggling of crores of rupees in Punjab. STF has made preparations to attach their property.
STF has identified 9 of his properties. These include properties located in various districts from his house in Mohali. There is no problem in this work, so STF is already completing all the formalities. This action is being taken by the STF under Section 64 of the NDPS Act.
According to the STF, the property of the sacked AIG that will be attached is worth more than four crores. However, the action to attach the property is done through the Union Finance Ministry.
In such a situation, the STF had made a case and sent it there. At the same time, the ministry has issued a notice to the family members of AIG on January 31 in this regard.
On February 9, he has been summoned to Delhi to present his case. Orders have also been given to bring documents related to the property.
