Gujarat elections today: Fate of 788 candidates to be decided in first phase

New Delhi: Voting is underway for 89 seats in the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections. Voting will be held between 8 am and 5 pm. As many as 788 candidates are in the fray for these seats spread over 19 districts of the state.

In the first phase, more than 2 crore voters will use their votes. The biggest challenge for the BJP in this election is the Aam Aadmi Party, which has managed to push the Congress back in the contest.
