Infosys owner Narayana Murthy gifts 4-month-old grandson Rs 240 crore shares

New Delhi: Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has gifted Infosys shares to his 4-month-old grandson in an off-market transaction.

According to regulatory filings, the value of these gifted shares is more than Rs 240 crore.

In such a situation, Ekagra Rohan Murty, grandson of Narayana Murthy, has got 15 lakh shares i.e. 0.04 percent stake in Infosys. With this, Ekagra Rohan Murthy has become perhaps India’s youngest billionaire.

After giving such an expensive gift to the grandson, Narayana Murthy’s stake in the tech company has come down to 0.36 percent or more than 1.51 crore shares. Murthy retired in December 2021 after giving 25 years to Infosys.
