Complaint against Sukhbir Badal in EC: AAP alleges misuse of children for campaigning in Punjab Bachao Yatra

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given a complaint to the Election Commission against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal. The complaint was submitted to Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C on behalf of AAP leader and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.

The AAP leader alleged that the Akali Dal leader was in the habit of breaking the law. On 16 March 2024, the Lok Sabha election code of conduct was imposed. After this, a guideline was issued by the commission for how government work is to be done. But the Akali Dal leaders are not accepting this thing.

The SAD leader’s Punjab Bachao Yatra had reached Raikot on April 6. At that time, the election code of conduct was flouted. They misused small children. The SAD leader handed over the mic to the children and asked them to appeal to the people to vote for them.

“Akali Dal Zindabad slogans were raised. The children were given a script in writing,”AAP leader said. He said that action should be taken against Akali Dal leaders under the Child Labour Act.
