Denied ticket, Former BJP minister Sampla likely to join SAD

Chandigarh: Former SC Commission chairman, and former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, upset over being denied a ticket by the BJP from Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, secretly met SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Sources indicate that Sampla may soon leave the BJP to join the SAD. Following his meeting with Sukhbir Badal, it appears almost certain that Sampla will contest from Hoshiarpur on behalf of the SAD.

On Wednesday, after a SAD meeting, Sukhbir Badal personally met with Vijay Sampla.

Sources suggest that Sampla will soon align with the Akali Dal under the leadership of the SAD. If Sampla bids farewell to the BJP, he may bring along several BJP leaders to join the Akali Dal with him.
