Punjabi youth stabs to death in Canada
Vancouver: Kulwinder Singh, a 28-year-old Punjabi youth, was fatally stabbed to death by a man of African origin while visiting White Rock Beach near the Canadian city of Surrey. Kulwinder, who came to Canada on a study visa several years ago, worked as a plumber.
He hailed from Tolewal village near Amargarh town in Punjab. The killing of Kulwinder Singh is being viewed as a police failure, as he was attacked while strolling with his wife, Manpreet Kaur. Another youth, Jatinder Singh, was also assaulted by the same individual wielding a sharp weapon a day before. Jatinder Singh is currently receiving critical care in the hospital.
There is widespread anger among the public, with many believing that if the police had bolstered security in the area after the initial incident, the second attack could have been prevented.
People feel that the central police stationed in Surrey are neglecting their responsibilities.
