Right wing leader Suri’s killer to contest Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar
Chandigarh: Sandeep Singh alias Sunny, accused of killing right wing leader Sudhir Suri in Punjab, may contest the Lok Sabha elections.
The decision came after Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, announced that he will contest from Khadoor Sahib.
Sandeep Sunny is currently lodged in Amritsar jail and has announced to contest elections from Amritsar seat.
After a meeting with Sandeep’s family and Sikh organizations, it was decided that Sandeep would contest the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat independently. The election process will be completed from jail.
The family said that if Amritpal Singh can contest elections while in Dibrugarh jail, then they can also field Sunny from the Amritsar constituency as an independent candidate.
