Three Indians arrested for Nijjar’s murder produced before court in Canada
Toronto: Three Indian nationals arrested for the murder of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar produced before a Canadian court via video conference for the first time to face murder charges in the case.
The killing has strained Canada-India relations. Karan Brar, 22, Kamalpreet Singh, 22, and Karanpreet Singh, 28, all Indian nationals living in Edmonton, were arrested on Friday and charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.
According to media reports, the three were presented separately via video conference in a packed provincial court in Surrey. They agreed to adjourn the hearing of the case till May 21 to give them time to consult their lawyers.
The arrested persons are believed to be members of the alleged group that was tasked with killing Nijjar.
