Fourth Indian national arrested in Hardeep Nijjar murder case in Canada

Ottawa: Canada has arrested the fourth Indian national in connection with the murder of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canadian authorities have already arrested three Indian nationals — Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22) and Karanpreet Singh (28) — in connection with the high-profile case.

The fourth Indian national arrested has been identified as Amardeep Singh (22), a resident of Brampton, Surrey and Abbotsford areas of Canada.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to murder.

Nijjar, 45, was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18 last year. An investigation team by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Singh has been arrested for his suspected role in the Nijjar murder case.

According to the release, Amardeep Singh was already in the custody of peel regional police in a case related to weapons
